review-ish-thingies: two books and a movie

more books for blog

I recently read I Am Malala. I’m pretty sure it’s only the second autobiography I’ve ever read, but it’s so good I’ll probably read a lot more. It tells Malala’s life story, of course, but it also goes into the corruption and twisted-ness of political parties and stuff like that. It’s really good for people who look up to Malala, want to understand some of the conditions in Pakistan, and/or want to know how she became an education activist.

ALSO, WINTER FINALLY CAME OUT. I finished it like a month after its release date, but that was mostly ’cause I was waiting for a friend to get it so that we could fangirl at almost the same time. So much happens in it, all the characters are balanced really well, everyone is cute (except Levana since she’s obviously still evil) . . . and other stuff that I won’t say so that I don’t spoil anyone. Anyway, what I can say is that the closure of the series is absolutely fantastic. The whole book is unpredictable and scary and splendiferous. I was freaking out at so many parts, and when the characters reach their breaking points (especially when Winter does) . . .  well, gosh.

I also recently watched Ace Wonder and it’s a great movie. It’s about an awkward ten-year-old boy detective who makes graphic novels, and it’s pretty hard for me to dislike something with that premise, sooo yeah! It doesn’t have the best plot and stuff, but it’s pretty funny and I recommend it.

I feel like randomly putting a quote in this, so here’s one from my novel (NO STEALING): “You are not changing the past, you are changing the memory of it.”

MAGICAL WORD OF THE DAY/WEEK/MONTH/WHATEVER:

Oneironaut, which means “a person who explores dream worlds”.
