FAVORITE “SNUGGLE-WEATHER” BOOKS

Um . . . uhhh . . . I don’t know. All books? Imma just say Of Enemies and Endings ’cause it has ice. And snow. And stuff. Also Winter, ’cause of the title, and ’cause of Winter’s hallucination in the first chapter involving ice. Yas.

FAVORITE WINTERY/CHRISTMASSY SNACKS

Food gets all-caps, so: CAKE, BROWNIES, ICE-CREAM, CAKE OR BROWNIES IN ICE-CREAM, LAY’S CHIPS WITH CHAAT MASALA DUMPED ON THEM, ETC. And I don’t care that these aren’t very winter-y ’cause they’re awesome.  : P

review-ish-thingy: the girl who died (doctor who)

-no maaajor spoilers-

OKAY. SO. YOU KNOW HOW THE TWELFTH DOCTOR BASICALLY STOLE HIS FACE FROM THE GUY IN POMPEII? THAT’S FINALLY ADDRESSED IN THIS EPISODE WITH A FLASHBACK.

The plot is mainly vikings vs. deadly warrior race + a plot twist involving Ashildr. I’ve been waiting for an episode set in the past so that there’s a bit more history, and HERE IT IS. There’s no way not to love the vikings.

And especially not Ashildr. Just look at her! And the cool-looking mysterious background . . .

Anywayyy. This episode’s got some pretty awesome quotes, like so:

  • “People talk about premonition as if it’s something strange. It’s not. It’s just remembering in the wrong direction.”
  • “Fly like a bird, run like a nose.”
  • “Winning is all about looking happier than the other guy.”
  • “What trickery is this?” “Says the man with a fake face!”

And naturally, the episode is very much worth watching. It’s fast-paced, but it gets a lot of stuff packed in. And . . . yeah! That’s about it.
